I assume that tall building is not in fact your office block and it's placement on your site sends everything design wise out of place, your top level navigation looks out of line and messy.

Also in your business I would assume an actual physical address would be a given.

My advice would be that you have done the hard bit by filling your site with text etc, I would now approach someone to tidy up the css (design) so that it lines up and looks like it's all in the correct place.

Had a quick perusal.

Love the logo, menu bar along the top works for me, but then a bit stumped by a big image of a skyscraper. Baffled by the relevance?

It's wasting key space, instead I have to scroll down to read your text and find out who you are.

Call to action on the home page seems to be you wanting me to follow you on twitter, face book, or go and do a google search? All exit points, instead of a "Need a child law specilaist, then phone 12345678"

Looking at you services and costs, I'm a bit confused. The skyscapers there again But that actual text says:

"Our service is by way of providing you with the answer to the issues you might be facing.....

Once we have considered the information you send to us, we would aim to contact you within 12 - 24 hours

...There is no charge for the services we provide and no obligation upon you whatsoever to take on board our information"

So a bit confused as to what is it you do, and how do you make money? Or have I missed the point and you are you a charity?

Right, I'll go now and let you lick your wounds

I really liked the black/white/green colour scheme, curly picture of some handwriting and a pen, understated, very reassuring, very professional... then the Bright! Aqua! Quote of the Day bit in the right-hand sidebar visually wrecked the whole impression, and the content doesn't even seem to relate to children or law.

Same for the Bright! Yellow! Twitter button. There are free ones available via Twitter directly that are much more in keeping with your colour scheme, just go to the bottom of the Twitter page and click "Goodies".

If it was my site - which it isn't so please do feel free to ignore me - I'd also consider rearranging the order in which things appear on that sidebar.

Im no expert on websites, so im talking as a potential customer lets say.

I agree with alot of points made alreday.

Colour scheme, the 3 colours you had worked perfectly, as mary said. black green and white. No need for the red, the bright colour of quote of the day, also the brown at the brown text at the bottom. I would keep to the three colours, your black text, and the green text to highlight or stand slighty from the rest

the facebook, twitter i dont think belongs on the homepage, maybe add that in contact us, or something.

The part that bothers me. is that the site says sf & co children law. Which is a subject that we all feel for. The info on your home page, Blog entries, twitter, google facebook, quote of the day. up an comming events, Forum posts at the bottom.

I would suggest that some ones comes to you at a last resort, they want info fast, and easily to find.

The pic of the tall buildings, i would remove that.

Home page, rates and services, i would suggest that has been copied and pasted. No need for that page, as i just looked at home page in shorten version here.

Also as said contact us, is a box. no phone number, address. I dont think you can put legal issues in a box, i wouldn't

i dont know how the legal thing works, i have not found anyhting to say your qualified in this field. or really who you are.

Thanks for recommending me everyone, lol

Well as some of you know, I am bouncing between Cyprus and the UK at the minute, the big mac is in Cyprus, so cannot do anything until Saturday (as using a piddly little macbook, that has none of my tools on it) But will gladly have a word with you about this, and if I can come to a number and solution that suits, we can talk more.

You are on the right track using a blog interface, I sing their praises all day long, though at the minute it looks like a blog, which makes me think its for advice, not business. The trick is to make it look like a website with the power of the blog buried in the background. (and there are some awesome background tricks for them) if you would like to speak, send me a message, and I will give you a call. (because i am nice like that!)
