Default Virtual Office 4 U

Hi guys

Just spent a few days going over our site myself, making some vital and not so vital changes.

Virtual Office 4 U

Let me know what you think, areas for improvement? All criticism welcome.
(I may just grumblegrumble when you criticise!)

Edit: i should mention, the chose your design .. designs, they're just templates inplace for now
More Edit; I have plans to make the 'Chose your Design' in a Portfolio page instead or maybe have both, advice?

phew, here goes, (don't grumble!)

I didn't get the header at first, an office ceiling with a small Virtual Office 4U, but image takes up over 1/3 of the page above the fold.

On a 1024 resolution, twitter image sits on top of the email button (top right).

Email button just looks like it's been plonked on (very technical term).

Bit confused by your sites primary message? It's called virtual office, but it has 3 lovely great big call to action buttons, but I only understand what the middle one does. Have to read the text for the other 2, and lead generation is hidden behind the linked in button on a 1024 resolution But none of them relate to virtual offices?

On the SEO bit, (again layout all over the place on smaller resolutions), you have an SEO package for £2000 per month! For that I would at least expect to see some genuine feedback, ie key words and search terms you have done that I can type into Google.

On the web design bit, if I choose a design, I seem to end up at:
http://www.virtualoffice4u.co.uk/ind...-designs/demo1 with a 404 error.

I don't think the templates bit is very enticing, a portfolio would be much better. Is there a reason why you have excluded VAT? We found that most small businesses aren't VAT registered, so get put off with a price that is £xyz + more money. Unless most of your customers are VAT registered, then fair enough.

Sorry matey, given you plenty to grumble about, but hope it helps

I have actually been lumbered with this work, the guy who made it stopped working here and left the whole thing in a huge mess.

many thanks Steve! I had not checked a lower resolution!! I shall have to sort that out.
I know about the 404's trying to get them fixed, seems difficult, I thought a portfolio would be better anyway so yeah agreed.

I can do something artsy with the email button I'm sure

good point on the SEO! I will have to get something extra on there, we do send monthly reports on movement to clients maybe I can do something with those.

I think those prices are inc VAT, I will have to double check that.

Not sure what you mean with the background? maybe that's the resolution again, for me the background sits perfectly in the middle of the screen

Background wise, just meant general layout on a lower res, see screen shot below, plus screen shot showing prices excluding vat.

Will stop you from getting bored

Appreciated!

EDIT: have down some updates! and checked in a lower resolution (Difficult to get right!) Thanksfor all the advice Steve.

Hmm, the whole thing is a bit clunky for my liking.

Steve has touched on a lot of the points, you may want to use Browsershots to see what the website looks like on other operating systems as well as different resolutions.
Your digg button hovers over the home button on 1024 resolution.

You seem to have big images just for the sake of it and detracts from the look of the website e.g. on SEO packages.

Also you can't guarantee being able to get a website on DMOZ, so not sure what you're referring to when you say, DMOZ submission as part of the SEO package...

You seem to be into all sorts of things but not overly clear what is the your main selling point?

...still grumbling? Keep at it!

Thanks for the Link, I had forgotten about browser shots!

Yeah I know how much work needs to go into this, it continues to prove difficult.

Hmm that should be "Dmoz submission" I take it, I know myself that you can't guarantee that, will have to change that.

Oh my, I can see many issues with the 1024 resolution! also opera doesn't seem to like the transparent background
a lot of issues with the social networking buttons covering things up! I guess I will have to move them.

It's okay, I wont grumble, I appreaciate any advice!
Many other things to grumble about at the moment, this website is the fun part!

Ill be honest I don’t like it, the message is quite hard to see and know what you do as well as that the images are all over the place and done seem to coordinate at all either it all seems a bit dark

Its nice layout. I liked the background but really didn't like the small images. I think they would look better if they were little smaller. All in all its okay.
