Default Hi all

While Reviewing a site.....

Hi all,

I have a question from two persons,
Person1: One who puts his site to be reviewed
Person2: One who reviews a site and give feed back.

For Person1: While presenting your site for review, what type or review and feedback do you expect? just about the external look and feel? how are the things placed? Fonts sizes etc? or are there some other factors that you also wish to be reviewed? If there are some then what are those?

For Person 2: While reviewing a site do you always consider the external look and feel of the site? Do you ever took time to determine the factors like user friendliness, user support, help guides?

Regards,

For person 1 - if they have a specific request then they should say, but I'd expect they'd want to know if you'd go back to their site, would you buy their products/services etc. and if not, why not.

For person 2 - it depends on the state of the website, if it's looking poor and needs a lot of work then start with the basic feel of the site etc... but if the site is looking generally good, then can offer more in depth advice but the key is to not overhwhelm the requestor (or at least try) with everything that needs to be done to a site.

You can see from the other previous threads what is asked and what advice is given.

Okay, fine.

They generally say that please review my site? This is what I want to know that what actually they wish to be reviewed?

It all depends, most people want a high level overview of their beloved website. A lot of people will ask for feedback expecting nothing but praise, but the reality is, any review should be done with the expectation of constructive criticism.

It doesn't have to be an SEO or web design expert. Some of the best feedback I have had has been from ordinary users who struggled to find something, or something confused them. This kind of feedback is priceless, and its all about getting some fresh eyes looking at your site.

What may perfect sense to the owner may have the rest of us scratching our heads

Also a lot of people are dabbling with varying levels of experience, so may want some basic SEO advice, or reassurance that they are going in the right direction.

Does that answer the question?

thanks, almost all the possible scenarios have been provided.
Yeah it makes sense that 'it all depends'.
