Wink Criticism Accepted

Steve, I have read your reviews on several other posts and I really think you have valuable insight.
I have a professionally designed site that I personally maintain and update. I also have a team of consultants that supply input on a variety of levels.
But, like I said, I really like your honesty and obvious eye for what may or may not work.
So, if you have time, take a look at our site and reply with any information you have. Others may provide their input as well.
Thanks guys!
Always looking to get better and move ahead!

I'll put a link for you, make it easier for people to find it:
Beginner Golf Clubs - Beginner Golf Sets - Junior Golf Clubs - Junior Golf Sets

Not a bad looking site, does what it says on the tin. Seems to be a logical structure.

Assume its a plug in shopping cart, but works ok.

No doubt the web designers here can be more thorough

Oh, sorry about all the rain in the UK...
Golfing in the rain is not at all fun.
But you have found your calling!
Keep up the good work!

OK, so I am back!

Gatonet, I advise only to make it better, please do not be offended, and if you are, get over it quickly !

The blue colours you are using are too many, pick one shade and stick with it buddy, keeps the format a tad better.

The main banner at the top is fine, nice course, clean crisp photo! Great stuff, but i would spread it to fit the top, feels like it is just stuck on at the minute, see the top of this forum, banner integrates with the site, flows in, even though the image is not the size of the site, it blends well.

On the links on the left, I would lose the outer glow on the lettering, but damn easy to fllow and navigate, great stuff!

The banner that holds pictures on the right would be better white instead of grey, so the photos with white backgrounds would look better.

I am being very critical here, but for your benefit buddy, you have a great laid out site, easy to navigate and find what i want, but I am always trying to get imagery right, it is what the client will 'feel' first on the site.

Hope this helps!

gatonet

I am always reluctant to give reviews because you never know how much a person has spent in time and money in design and what there level of design capability there is or is not.

That said I would make the following comments.

1) As an end user I personally would not buy from you site because of the adwords at the bottom of your home page, I think it effects your credibility and I would guess that the revenue you are earning from the adverts is small and therefore on balance is probably costing you more than it is making you.

2)Why is you second navigation tab to your links page - does your potential buyer really want to see who you link to when he or she is purchasing your product?

3)And for me the design looks dated and that would put me off

My comments are not meant to offend in anyway and really are just my 2 cents - the next post could be the exact opposite to me

One thing I've noticed, the site doesn't fit on my screen without having to scroll to the right.

I'm using 1280 x 800 15" widescreen.

Can see the changes straight away buddy, unfortunately, the logo is now stretched, and looks it, is there a way you can set the site to auto size in any browser or resolution? As it is now spreading outside my browser and I am viewing on a '24 inch Mac, so most people may be seeing it less than I am.

Sorry Gatonet, but you are obviously in it for the money, so you know the tweaks will be worthwhile once perfected!
