Will wait for some none designers to pop in their opinions, but I think we should do some work swapping! A good barter might get what you need, and what I need!

I wish Google Places was guaranteed but it isn't, unforunately. Nothing in Google can be guaranteed by a third party. So i'd perhaps re-work that wording about that on the page.

I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder much of the time, and the site in question looks like a lot of others I see offering this sort of thing. It's not awful, bad or anything. I would review the SEO on the page though. Your pages all appear to use th same meta tag keywords which is not akin to anyone applying proper SEO. Not got time to look in any detail. Just bits that jump out at me at a glance.

Are you allowed to use the trading name Google Places Optimisation...only I wouldn't have thought so. But that's what it says in your footer. The word Google is a registered trademark.

The guarantee just means if we dont get you on the front page within 3 months and keep you there then you get a refund. I agree SEO cant be guaranteed as such, but how we do it hasnt failed as yet, hence the guarantee.

Regarding the name, it is a trading style of our sister company, and hasnt caused any problems as yet.

Thanks for the tip on the SEO, unfortunately it's not me who deals with the website, so i will relay the information accross, there is more content waiting to be added also.

regards
john

Your competitors are likely to report it to Google and you can expect a cease and desist at best. At worst, probably could sue you seeing as you are the biggest organisation in the East Midlands - so they'll know you could afford to cough up.

But more than that anyway, the mesage it conveys to anyone in a professional capacity is that your company doesn't understand Intellectual Property (IP) rights, etc, and if you are responsible for wording someone's Google Places submission then who knows? You might use any words you see fit, seeing as you are using a means yourself that is wrong, if you see what I mean. I'm just informing you before Google does. Take it or leave it of course but as it's a review, so worth a mention.

PS ...are there really no organisations in the east midlands with a turnover above £5.6million? That's shocking!!

PPS .... you have display issues.

And your free front page typo alert is:
Quote:
If you have any questions or queries and you needs answers fast then you can call us and speak to any of our advisors right away.
... remove the "s" from the end of the word "need", unless of course you're trying for the Italian-American vibe. The same typo appears on your contact page.

I didn't read what the Google Places is all about.
But one thing I would say that make the font types and sizes symmetric on all the pages.
The Page is visible as 'Contacts' whereas the title says it 'Contact Us'.

Default Google name

I would change domain names - as Google will catch you at some point - probably when you have spent a load of time and money promoting your site.

It happened to someone I know they built a twitter application - it was quiet good but Twitter decided to send them a legal letter asking for it to be handed over in 7 days or face the lawyers - that was the end of the that. I forget the name now but it was something like tweatings - a play on twitter and greetings.
