How can I improve my Landing page?

I found the grey text on the white background hard to read.

Generally its a bit washed out, with too much white space for my liking.

I agree with the comments about too much white space in the middle (the bit where I'd expect you to tell me how life would be so much more fun if I got involved).

I never like sites where I have to sign up before I can find out whether I might be interested in what they're selling me - so why don't you show me (in glorious technicolour or sophisticated design, depending on your target audiences) the varied ways you could spice up our social lives on the landing page itself?

The "people enjoying themselves" look like 1930s types doing 1930s things - obviously you want to show attractive people of our own time having fun.

Lastly, I'd be absolutely delighted if my site had a bounce rate of only 29%. Best wishes, Linda

Since it is a site about people I would definitely add some photos of people in the top half of the site. I know I can scroll down to see recently active members, but at first landing it kind of looks like a people site that nobody is a part of in the first few seconds of landing there. People aren't going to look around unless there is something to draw there attention to right away.

As far as the logo design and functionality, I really like it. Just add some friendly faces on the top portion of the site and I think your bounce rate will really decrease.
