Default New Look

This has been on the cards for a while, we have a few things changing at Kip FX, so getting the website ready for 2011. Just getting all the pages to work at the minute, updating pages with easier to understand info for people that are novices or are not sure what it is they need.

Hit me hard please guys and gals!

Right, you know you're getting the superpicky, cos you're not a newbie and I know you can take it.

A handshake of friendship first - I love the Know/no Better Web Design thing, that made me smile.

Now...

Search box at the top. There's a text entry box that says "Search" and then a button that says "Search" and it looks a little odd. Could the text in the text entry box be changed? Eg a greyed-out Type your search query here and then the button Search KipFX.com ?

I think "100% 5 star reviews" would be better as "100% five-star reviews" so that the digits don't clash.

Homepage, under "bespoke website design" there's an "it's" with a backslash in it.

Contact page, under "receive your free quote", it says that using your contact form "is a far quicker way of reaching the correct design team", but it doesn't say what it is far quicker than.

Websites/Our Services page, each section starts with plain text "Budget Web Design Package: Budget Websites >> Standard Websites >> Premium Websites" and then goes straight into the main text. The cutoff is abrupt. When the "Learn more" button is clicked, it looks the way it's supposed to on the main article page, but on the jump page it could do with some spacing, and maybe an ellipsis at the cutoff point.

Graphic Design Services: "Below you will find some of the graphic design services that we provide, with the emphasis being on creating the perfect image for your company, with an award winning design company like Kip FX, you can be assured of the very best in company branding." Too much "with" and it's overcrowded as a sentence. It needs to be at least two sentences, for instance:
"Below you will find some of the graphic design services that we provide. Our emphasis is on creating the perfect image for your company; with an award winning design company like Kip FX, you can be assured of the very best in company branding."

In fact reading more of that page there is some wanton cruelty to the comma throughout. Get your copywriter to fix it.
And your Social Media page.
And your Extras page.

Okay, done.

lol you've been "virtualled"

I have never known a designer to change his site so often! Good job your not a mechanic, your car would be permanently in pieces

I like it though, gets ever more social networking-tastic

Could be a bug from Chrome, the search box text doesn't disappear when you click on it, you have to manually delete the phrase Type in search term, then click > >

Thanks Steve, looking into non disappearing text now!

I know what you mean about it changing all the time lol, google does not know it has changed. All links still following through, even the ones that have moved (love wordpress), keep tweaking until it works for visitors, normally been obsessed with my own look, not what people want lol!

Kipmeister, you need to get Chrome, built in spell checker it's great.

Convinced old Stavros to try it out, and can now actually understand his posts
