Its so true though isn't it lol.

You can't blame someone for having a go, infact its admirable, but it shocks me at how many people than scratch their heads as to why they are not making £5k a month.

The money to be made online is what brings them all in, a bit like the Gold Rush, but only a few will make it, the home built sites are competing with professionals.

If budget is the issue, you start with a decent, affordable website, when that starts making profits, you go for the next level up, and so on and so forth.

I have to agree with everyone else that this looks basic and very homemade.

The text in the product pages is too small

Search engine freindly URL's are must

When you click on the add to cart button and it opens another tab in your browser doesnt look good

You need some well written descriptive copy about your company on the homepage to help with SEO

I'm just pulling myself up off the floor

Seriously, thank you all for your very blunt comments; they have really made me think. Yes I do want this to be a long term business and you're all right about the investment. I've simplified the site in the meantime - in fact, with the help of my 16 year old daughter who regularly visits Urban Outfitters and Lush. I suppose the other thing that's put me off getting someone else doing the site is that I'm always updating it and don't want to have to wait around for changes.

But, taking into consideration all that you've said, I'm going to rethink. I can barely bring myself to say it . . . but if you get a chance, what do you think of the temporary changes I've made?!!

If that is your only concern, raise it with your web designer, I have not built anything this year that my clients cannot update themselves. This is a very common thing now Martina (your name, right?), and far better for SEO as you can update when you want to, instead of waiting for your designer to fit you in and bill you.

10/10 for taking criticism as its intended, purely to help.

Changes wise though, still go with my last post, and some of the examples I highlighted, who would you buy from?

But, reality is it's not what I think, in the (nearly) month it's been launched, and as we head into peak e-commerce season, are you happy with the volume of sales?

If its converting, then ignore us and cash in. If it's Radio Silent, then it's time to consider some investment and engage a professional then this time next year its bottles of bubbly on you
