Default please review our web site

after the harsh but fair comments about out previous web site design back in March, we've produced a new design.

Contact Management Software, Invoicing Software, CRM Software, Quotes, Invoicing and Billing

we welcome all feedback especially...

do we need a new logo ?

are the large pics ok at the top of the pages ? or would smaller pics be better and more of them so the user could click on the ones of interest and see a larger image ?

are the scrolling testimonials ok ?

all comments gratefully received.

(we know there are still a few pages deep within the site we need to change to adopt the new look and feel and we're working on those)

thanks

Tom

What seems to have happened here is that no marketing thought seems to have gone into this. There is nothing to catch anyone's attention on the page. It's looks like all the info you want to appea ron the home page has been found a place and stuck in. There's no chance of conversion as there is no call to action. The benefits bit is stuck out the way. And if the web design is anything to go by, we have to assume this CRM software interface will be likewise. It's really poor quality visually. There's no features and benefits glaring out to us, no USP or special offer to entice, and yes, logo looks like it as created in word and stuck on, and of course the design lacks any brand. The scrolling text did nothihng for me and didnt compel me to read them.

Sorry, probably sounds harsh but you did ask. I dont know what your previous one looked like so not going by that as I dont have time to go searching for the thread so this review is based only on this website.

Hi Tom

Phew, you just got a bit of a beating there from Sandra

Afraid I'm going to have to be critical as well, although to be fair its much better than the last site

Logo is a bit lazy, and the scrolling testimonials is all a bit 1990's

But landing on the page, I still have no idea what it is you do. You've got a few precious seconds to grab me. To be fair, I'm probarbly looking for CRM related software, but the screenshot header I find confusing, as it seems to merge into your tabs and the search bar.

Text on the left doesn't look right, with odd spacing.

To be fair, looking at some of your competitiors, there some bland uninspiring sites, including market leaders like Acts.

Could this be an opportunity to set the world on fire with a full on web 2.0 site, which wouldn't have to be that expensive, as you don't have a particuarly complex site.

Maybe get some styling ques from competitors, look at their call to actions, the way they present their products, features etc.

Give your web designer some sites that you like, or bits that you like, and check that your designer has created previous eccomerce sites, so understands layout, sales flow etc.

Sorry Tom

that's exactly what we need to hear. thanks for your honest opinion.

we've been kidding ourselves that the logo looks ok and obviously it's not and we'll need to reword in terms of benefits and USP.

people love the software and it sells well, but sounds like a lot of people may be being put off by the web site and maybe a rebrand of the web site may be in order.

if anyone wants to PM me with a quote for a rebrand/makeover of the web site (just the home page) and logo and a rough design, feel free, or we may run a 99designs project.

thanks

regards

Tom

thanks Steve, great feedback as always.

I'm glad you think it's better than the previous site. probably best that Sandra didn't see that

that's another vote for a new logo - we'll definitely be doing that soon.

that's really useful info about the screenshot - we'll need to work on that too.

and we'll remove the scrolling text.

thanks also for the links to other sites.

regards

Tom

I totally agree with the point of no thought about marketing has gone into to this and the distinct lack of call to actions.

I also do not like the "screen grab" you have used as an image of the top of the pages. To me it is confusing.......is it a second nav for a demo of the software? What is it meant to be showing me?

If you are wanting to show what the software looks like via images, a separate page with these on and some text explaining each of the screen grabs would be far better

Dont get me wrong, this isnt about making beautiful websites, it's a B2B site so would tend to look more formal anyway than fluffy n squidgy, but it can still go a long way to looking very good for a reasonable cost. It is about forcing conversion though. If you have a free trial for example, it needs slapping in the visitors face so to speak, and then leading them down the sign up path, or whatever you want them to do. Tell them what to do, how to get it, etc. Poeple need telling what to do, humans respond to instruction and if you make it easy you will convert more than those left flounding.

Sorry, but at first glance there is nothing to say why I would want to buy what it is you are selling.

thanks for your feedback Pamela, much appreciated.

we've made some changes to the text, but we obviously still have a long way to go with this and we'll continue to work on it.

thanks

regards

Tom
