Default Give me the worse!

Now my site should be OK - if not then I am in the wrong profession!

However, it is always good to get the opinion from others who are in the same or similar game as me. So do be as honest as you like - I won't cry much

And if I get really bad reviews from you guys I can always look at shelve stacking in the local supermarket as a change of career...........

Here you go MagnifyB-Online Marketing and Website Management

Just a couple of quick points.

Your site is for web design done by yourself and then in the bottom right hand side its says designed and built by a company called plasticle.

Also not sure on the font for all the navigation.

Default here goes....

No not going to comment on any SEO stuff, as you prob know a lot more than me! So looking at it as a potential punter...

When I land on a page, I normally give myself a couple of seconds to orientate and establish exactly what the site is, and is it worth delving deeper. But it took me a little longer to work out exactly what it was you were, web design/graphic design, SEO, marketing?

It might just be me, but your title line just didn't read clearly in my mind, it just didn't flow, so I had to reread it a couple of times.

"With MagnifyB all your online web marketing and website management requirements are taken care of from the start."

I think the font used in the header menu doesn't help, as its quite small and I struggled to read it clearly. Sat back from my screen, the font looks a little blurry on my HP lappie.

Content and list of services is pretty comprehensive and reads well, but the one thing I couldn't find was any costs? I need to contact you first. I appreciate a lot of stuff will be bespoke packages built around your requirements, but its nice to have an idea of what the potential costs are.

This seems to be quite common with SEO companies, but I do warm to biz's that display their prices. If I need to contact a company to find out costs, especially when its stated that emails are answered in 24 hours, I'll keep on surfing.

Final one, I'd make the Magnify logo in the header a link back to the home page, as thats pretty standard practice now, and people are used to clicking the logo instead of looking for "home".

Phew, hope that wasn't too brutal.

Thanks for the feedback so far. Nothing forcing me to the Gin bottle just yet.....

I would like to clarify though that I am not a designer or programmer and therefore did not design my own site. By design I mean the layouts, frontend of whatever you want to call it - all the content etc is me.

If you guys are thinking I am a designer then I need to make sure the fact that I am not, is better potraited on the homepage

SEO expert site and none of the links are title tagged!! Surely that is a sin?

Agree with Tomsk about use of fonts, looks like an Arial Narrow for links, really hard on the eye (27' mac, with glasses on) and the text is not Arial or Verdana in the body content, which it really should be, there is a reason for this in marketing, again something you should be all over like a rash.

Cannot read the strapline on your logo without doing a zoom in, then its shaky, and not sure 90% of visitors will know how to do a quick browser zoom.

Its obviously a WordPress site, so these changes are very simple.

Just noticed that some of your images (if not all) are not title tagged, I was taught this last year from the esteemed 4x4 Steve! And these have proved invaluable.

When somebody lands on my site, they need to see that I am awesome at what I do, and that I practice what I preach, in SEO this is even more important, how can you manage my site, if you cannot manage your own?

And checking 'SEO Sheffield' cannot see you for at least 4 pages in, you might want to sort your SEO out, get those title tags sorted for a start, if you are at a loss, I have a free SEO eBook I created on my main site, just search for it.

Sorry this seems so harsh, but if you take this stuff onboard, you will improve, if not you won't, it is meant to help.

Kip

Nobody is being harsh - I take everything on board.

I haven't finsihed playing about with the copy ( is has been copied in from a word doc by the designer) and yeah I admit I've missed the title tags....looks like this is my weekend job.

Thanks everyone for your comments - I have taken everything on board
