Have to say, for the small price, this is well worth doing. Probate is such a faff. I did it once. It's also surprising who could potentially end up with your estate (lol if you have one worth fighting over, that is!).

I had to write in by name, who I wanted to write out, if that makes sense. eg ex husband (when kids were under 18). That means you can prove you showed that you considered them, but then excluded them from benefiting. This way there is no doubt about who does benefit, and who doesn't.

The disputes come in when people claim they were possibly overlooked, etc. I also stated who I wanted to be guardians of my kids (when under 18).

This meant the ex cannot make a claim to the money in their own name, to look after your kids. By appointing executors of your choice, they determine the release of any money to the guardians of your kids.

Definitely worth doing and saves so much hassle.

On a more serious note, please please sort things out while you're still hale and hearty. Also make sure your executor(s) know where all the important documents can be found and list things they'll need to know (eg the banks where you've got your accounts).
