Hi Tom

Can you explain to me what CRM software is? - I am assuming it is similar to CMS and therefore in the realms of Joomla etc?

Or I could be complete wrong of course and it could be more like ACT

Hi tomsk

CRM software is Customer Relationship Management software so it is software that helps you to manage contacts and all interactions with potential clients including email messages, marketing letters, quotes, keeping customer notes, appointments, reminders, tasks, telephone conversations etc.

When a sales lead becomes a paying customer, it can be used to create invoices, track payments, and send payment reminders. sales can be tracked per salesperson to show who the best salespeople are.

Reporting can show who your best customers are, who hasn't purchased for a while and who always pays late, who we haven't invoiced yet, for example, and any specific information your business needs to have reported.

So it is like ACT rather than Joomla.

yes, especially when you consider the total cost of ownership over say, 5 years, including support and upgrades. the total for Amphis Customer CRM (single user) over 5 years is £99+Vat. we released the first version of Amphis Customer 3 years ago and existing customers have enjoyed free upgrades and free support ever since.

we find it difficult to get that message across (though we do try). people ask us whether its £99 per year. it's not it's £99+Vat in total. that's all you have to pay.

the trick is, of course, if you make software really easy to use (which we have) then people don't actually need much support, which is why we don't need to charge for it
