Default Can you help me choose a SatNav???????

Would you share with me which particular one you have, and whether you rate it highly. I shall be buying one soon. Not knowing anything about them, I wouldn't know where to start with all the 1000's to choose from.

Hi - sorry about the late reply. Mine is a Tom Tom, I've forgotten what model, I will check later tonight and get back to you.

Thank you, Melanie.

Maybe I should start a new thread on this, to get a few reviews. I look forward to hearing yours.

Moved you to your own thread

Tom Tom here, getting a bit old now and over due for replacement, but has been faultless over the years, had plenty of use and punishment. Will certainly replace with another Tomtom

I had a Navman - loved it and only sent me wrong twice - both times with Steve in the car (he was driving too lol)

Sadly this got stolen and I have a Garman now - few little extra gizmos on this like Bluetooth & European maps but its not as good as my Navman - it sometimes gets itself confused at junctions and doesnt always give you time to react - or is that just my driving?

Copilot all day long and to make it even better it works on my iphone so I can use when I am with anyone.

Does not cost much from the app store.

Firstly, thank you Steve for starting this new thread for me, I was just about to do that.

Thank you also to everyone else that has posted here.

Not knowing one from t'other, I basically need a reliable, accurate nav, that covers UK and Europe, that has a traffic alert, and maybe a "which lane to be in" detail.

Live everything that we purchase today, there are just far too many choices.

(I'm also looking at changing my car very soon, but I'll save that for another thread!)

No worries

I think to be honest, for what you're after, any of the mainstream ones will do the job. With Tom Tom you just buy a map for Europe and stick it in as a memory card, or at least that's how it works on my older one.

I'd have to agree with Steve, though for a "balanced thread" I've a Garmin which is still doing well after 5 years!
