Talking What's the best way to Quit?

This made me chuckle, a few classic high profile resignations, Dave Lee Travis is still my all time favourite, quitting live on air

"The way someone leaves a job can affect their career forever.

When some resign they leave with their heads hung in shame, for others it's a moment of defiance, and there are those who acknowledge that they have done wrong and leave quietly.

Some are seen to have waited too long...."
How do you have an honourable resignation?

Sometimes its good to go with a bang, but you have to think about the bridges you're burning ahead of you. People talk, and if you are a well known person, always in the news etc. people would probably be less likely to hire you because of what you have done.

IT was funny though. Was a good read.

Default Storming out

I have had a few staff storm out, but fortunately they didn't work directly for me. I like a bit of drama in the workplace ads to the spice of things.

I worked for British Gas around 15 years ago, was sent to service one of their recently installed new boilers. Chatting away to the customer who asked if he could watch me, I said " How much have you paid for this?" £7k he said... As I then started to undo the boiler casing the whole boiler unit came flying of the wall, water and gas going everywhere, trying to tell the owner where to shut the water off was a complete waste of time, and so his newly laid parquet flooring all came up bit by bit. That was it for me, thought I could do a better job at half the cost. I stuck the key to the van up the exhaust pipe, phone the office and said I'm off and caught a cab home...

That was brilliant. Really. Did they ever get the key from the exhaust I wonder...

My favourite has got to be when model and TV presenter, Liz Fuller, broke off her engagement to hypnotist, Paul McKenna. She did while presenting on one of those auction TV channels and had texted him in advance..

She was selling engagement rings when she turned to the camera and told McKenna she was leaving him. Then, as she closed the bidding on one item, she said: “Going, going, gone – like you!”

Class!!!!

Dangerous upsetting a hypnotist, imagine it, then he said the magic trigger word that he planted ages ago, and she spent the rest of her life running round thinking she was a monkey
