Default Watching BBC iplayer abroad etc

For the last few times in France I have been able to watch all the UK catch up services such as bbc iplayer , 4od etc by using a service called adtelly it can be paid for monthly, so I only use it when I am away - £5.50 for a month is not bad.

Watched dragons den last night from the comfort of the south of France

Good old dragons den hey?

"But why would people pay £5.50 per month, when they can watch it for free a few weeks later when they get back" - said my best Duncan Bannatyne accent

Anyhow, good to know. Another website is justintv which I know when I was out of the country once upon a time, they aired the x-factor semi-final. Justintv is more good for sports though.

I may be at risk of saying something dumb, but I don't quite understand what you're all on about.

If for example you take your lappie to france and get an internet connection, why cant you just watch iplayer as normal?

You can still access the beebs content from France can't you?

No, the BBC are onto foreign watchers, they can see your internet connection is outside of the UK and block it. Its the same with normal UK channels as well. And probably the same if you were to try watch an overseas channel in the UK.

Never knew that! Learn something every day!!!

Planning on touring France next year with the caravan, (had enough of airline strikes and volcanoes) had assumed I could access iplayer, can't miss my eastenders

Shall have to get a HDD recorder for the portable satellite
