Default Whats your favourite vacation destination?

Just a bit of fun, I like travelling myself and have done quite a bit of touring round Europe. Big fan of Prague and Venice, but I do like London.

How about anyone else, whats your favourite vacation destination? Overseas, States, or are you a stay at home type?

Me and the wife did India a couple of years ago, absolutely amazing. We started in Delhi (an experience!) did the Taj to get the tourist tick, then toured Rajastan which was beautiful.

We hired a car and driver, (they drive like maniacs), and he was great, spoke little English but was good fun.

We ended up in Kerala, chilling out on the beach after a few weeks in the Rajastan desert, then finally a few days in Mumbai before flying home.

Amazing place, we will definately go back. The people were great, scenery and culture amazing. You have to get your head round the poverty in places like Delhi and Mumbai and realise its not a western country, but overall highly recommended!

My boyfriend and I went to Cosumel, Mexico last summer. It was an amazing experience!!! We did 14 SCUBA dives in 6 days and went sight seeing the rest of the time there The food was good, people were friendly. We are definitely going back.

Never been a fan of the typical European drops, Spain, France etc, but after 5 trips to yprus this year I have to say that it is a great place with great people, felt like I had lived there all my life, never felt like a tourist once! Booze is cheap (not house booze, the real stuff) and people are kinder than back home.

SE Asia, lived over there for 18 months, was awesome and a nightmare all at the same time, Indonesia Mainland felt like you were going to be mugged, and not many people would try and mug me thankfully, Bali on the other hand was unbelievabley fantsatic, we stayed at the Seminyac Villas, I cannot recommend them enough, Philippines had its charms, the people are warm and helpful, unless they are employed, then they kind of turn off and robotise themselves!

Amsterdam twice this year (No I am not a smoker!) In the day it would handle a head to head with any cultural city quite easily, beautiful place, but at night it just feels grimey and horrid, we walked down the alleys obviously, but as tourists having a giggle, my advice, get a hotel on the edge of town, and browse in the daytime, but be out of the city at night.

For me its got to be Italy, especially the Lake Garda region

Have done a few tours around Europe, France, Austria, Germany etc, but having been to Rome, Venice and many other parts of Italy, i think its such a beautful country with an amazing heritage and culture.

I tend to drive down to Italy, which makes it even better as you get to see so much more than flying, although it takes a tad longer to get there

Hmmm, never thought about Italy! Why? I do not know, but I am doing now, like things I know, but also like new places with the other half! Cheers Alby

Took the missus to Florence for her birthday last Feb, did the obligatory leaning tower trip. Really enjoyed it, beautiful part of Italy, but both of us were dissapointed with the food

We couldn't find what we would consider as an "Italian" restaurant, ie a cosy steak and pasta house, and the meals we had were overall quite dissapointing. We also struggled to find any lunch type food, other than the local cold meat baguettes. Yet back home, we always end up in an Italian restaurant, so just goes to show how it gets adapted for different cultures.

But the culture, architecture and scenery of Florence more than made up for it
