I do agree with this statement and it's always better in order to optimize your site well in SERPs.

Flash is good for interactivity but thats about as far as it will go in terms of a website. SEO is important and flash prevents you from utilizing all seo aspects for example a flash navigation can stop search engine spiders from crawling through your site using your links
