Nope, but I hope it hasn't followed the same theme of recent media hysteria. It does make me chuckle the intense paranoia. Apparently we are about to descend into war and anarchy. Stock up your shelves, dust off the shotgun, armeggeddon is here... again...

There's loads of stories like this floating around:
Stocking up for Doomsday: As economists predict meltdown, meet the families ready for the worst | Mail Online

Plus even came across an American forum dedicated to surviving the impending apocalypse. It would have been hillarious apart from the fact that some of these people are serious, and are planning some fantasy hollywood post madmax gun toting world. Some of the threads were pretty disturbing!

Looking at some of the usernames and profiles, there seemed to be a similarity of low intelligence, lack of achievements and love for all things anarchy

Mind you, if law and order does break down, at least I'll be able to sort out my neighbour dispute

Right, pull up the drawbridge, let Europe sort itself out, I'm off to watch Frosty the Snowman while we still have electricity before France switches it off...

the Scots want independence from the English, the English want independence from EU, the French and Germans want more integration, everyone wants something. Its a make or break situation ?
BBC Panorama is more pragmatic, they just make a point that EU is not the only market for the British manufacturing

As for the anarchy, the London riots did look a bit like out of a movie, but it will never happen on a larger scale.

We'll have to wait till the interest rates start creeping up and homes are repossesed on mass. Sometime in the very near future I reckon....

Thats cheating, you can't sit on the fence when it comes to a good rant

Nothing better than a good sound off and putting the world to rights

The European Union as a free trade area and defence pact is a good idea.

A common currency does not work unless one country has absolute control.

Germany should go back to the Deutschmark and leave the rest to sink or swim on their own.
