So today is the day, Mr Blair faces the Iraq War Enquiry.
Time will tell how he performs, but what is the actual aim of the enquiry, or what does it hope to acheive? My understanding is no one will face any criminal proceedings, stuff thats come to light already shows that Govt lawyers thought the justification for war was illegal. So whats the point? Are any real lessons going to learned? I doubt it. It seems to be a media circus and witch hunt conducted at the tax payers expense. Personally, although not a Labour fan, I think we were right to remove Saddam, but the justification using weapons of mass destruction was a bit thin, and blagging it has caused untold damage. Surely human rights issues alone could have provided just cause, and years earlier!

![]() Anyway point in question - Mr Blair. Actually agree with Steve, we needed to remove Saddam & his henchmen, another went to the gallows earlier in the week. Not so sure of the weapons, i do think someone was convinced he had them, will they find them? - Doubtful. I think Saddam may have convinced himself he had these weapons without actually having the ability to produce them - guess we will never know for sure ..... Time to train up the locals and bring the troops home though

Its true, when I see the money wasted on this exercise of hate it makes my blood boil, Sadam was a bad chap, make no bones about it, but Bush used his own army and us as lap dogs to fight for a construction and oil deal.
Get right on my ******* nerves, our soldiers risk their lives for something that is nothing less than a war crime, we lost men and women because we were total faggots and could not say no to the septics, give me this guy for a PM anyday! How A PM Should Act! |

Think Stavros summed it up nicely, the enquiry was a waste of money
