Religion, Politics, Rants and all things Controversial Ok, good old fashioned debate. Not for the faint hearted, but keep it non offensive, clean and tempers in check...

Default Banks

Ok ive just had 2 weeks off so should be nice and relaxed but noooo

My Bank (which i will not name) has been winding me up for the last few days of my break.

In short - i had to open another savings account for some money im looking after for my boys - got back off my hols on Thursday last week to find that they had put 2 cheques in one account when i thought each of my 2 kids had a cheque each. Having stood in the Branch arguing with the deputy manager, her stating it was impossible for this to happen and the cheque must had been issued to the wrong child -Hmmm - she clearly knew nothing about cheques and their own clearing procedure and even told me the cheques were sent back to the issuing Bank, so i decided to contact the issuing Bank to be told your own Bank keeps the cheques!!

The upshot - Rang the Head Office & formally complained - asked for a copy of the offending cheque which to be fair took 2 hours to achieve and not the 3 days they said it would and as i thought it was issued to the correct child, they had put it in my second childs account, - suddenly Head Office are full of apologies especially when i suggested the Ombudsman may be interested to hear that they had cashed a cheque in the wrong account. Still no explanation as to how thats possible or why it happened!

The apology - £50 for each child will be deposited in each account and £150 for me, which i am splitting with Marie Curie Hospice

I feel wounded but vindicated for making such a scene in Branch now! - ahh Victor is back lol

Our resident ranter is back on form

Bit of a result getting £250 out of a bank! No wonder they're all going bust

Dont belieeeeeeeve it !!!!

Had to visit the branch on Saturday - spoke to the same assistant i had the problems with - she knew nothing about my complaint despite me asking for an apology letter from her - spoke to the manager of the branch (he wasnt there before) - he was gobsmacked at my complaint & lack of courtesy shown by his staff, the saga continues lol

So much for xtra help, how about xtra bad customer service (there you go Bill )
