Parent blogs are a really big deal these days. I read some now and again and they can be pretty funny! Since joining Tork I’ve really got into following corporate social responsibility and environmental blogs just to keep up with new developments and ideas. And as I said before, if they are used properly they van be a great tool for an organization to connect with present and potential customers.

I must admit I'm very two-faced about parent blogs. I often find them entertaining to read, but at the same time, I'm sitting there in the smug security of knowing that the worst documentation of my own childhood is a few cringesome photographs, not tagged, not indexed, not backed up on Google's servers, just shut away in a cupboard where no school friend (or enemy), no future employer, and no future employee is ever likely to lay eyes on them.

Hmmm Parent blogs, dodgy ground. Its the fact theres an online data record to come and haunt your offspring in years to come. It's bad enough with the likes of Facebook.

I keep trying to educate my neice who thinks it's cool to use bad (bad read very crude) language and obscene comments, but who wants to go into someform of childcare as a career. There already countless stories of employees getting fired or passed over for promotion due to insensitive or immature blog or social network comments regarding their employers or colleagues.

Sometimes this internet malarky is a little too accessable, and I admire the likes of Mary who actively preserve their personal information.

I read somewhere that a high proportion of employers are now googling propestive candidates.

Makes you wonder what kind of digital personality you have left already to be interpreted by a potential employer/customer/supplier

I never even really thought about that aspect of it all but, yeah, it would be very weird to know that your entire childhood was documented and uploaded to the internet for all to see. I guess this will just become a pretty standard thing for 21st century kids... I'm starting to feel old!

Heyy

Well sometimes I enjoy reading blogs, if they're informative, witty & not too long.
I do allways read before posting otherwise I would sound like I'm speaking complete gibberish, not professional at all.

See! Just confusing.

I read blogs on a daily basis...i read blogs that are in line with my interests, and sometimes I read even those that are far from my inclinations. There are a lot of things that you could learn from reading them. You get to know other people's opinions and blogging has eventually become an interactive venue for most people. Most often, I do it as a hobby.. But when you're not just contented with the simple sharing of insights stuffs, you can actually maximize your writing passion and use it or business.

Hi davaoprojects,

Which blogs would you recommend for general reading? There are general lists about who the top bloggers are, but some specific recommendations would be really appreciated.

Thanks a lot
