I have used Google PPC and discovered the keywords also determine the bid and its quite competitive. However, I placed my website on free listing directory such as Freeindex directory, BT Tradespace directory and other organic directories. IT is advisable to think properly before involving in spending more for adverts or directories which doesn'y yield results as one expects.

Social networking sites will give you more traffic. I am promoting my site on stumbleupon and facebook. I am getting more traffic from both.

A mix of PPC and organic SEO (Don't ask, I read it somewhere ) will do the trick. For any PPC get help or at least ask questions to people who have been successful with it, you will find a few on the forum.

You want to make sure you are getting the right type of visitors to your site so that your conversation rate is decent.

Social Media is also a good start. If you have time, do it. If not, outsource it.

it depends what you want these visitors to do! If you simply want to increase traffic use social media. If you want visitors that turn into leads use PPC.
