Im frequently asked "How do I make my Lifetime Listing work better?"
There is no right or wrong answer here but from my experience the most commonly missed piece of information is the web-link at the top of the page. We are all lazy and if we have to search for a link we tend to get bored and click off without looking to hard, so make sure you add a web-link at the top of the page. Nice big bold font so you can’t miss it when you open the page something along the lines of – Sound And Vision- Delivering A Better Deal - TV, Video & Radio - West Yorkshire Don’t add too much text - yes I know we say we give you 10000 characters, but do you know how much that actually is to read?? - Yeah - way too much. Keep it simple and punchy, also take of advantage of using hyperlinks in the main body of the text, especially if you have a multi page web site and you want to demonstrate these off to your potential customers. A good example of this is – Arevolution Wellbeing Centre - Alternative Therapy - West Sussex Also keep the content unique, don’t copy huge chunks off your website, it will actually work against both your site & MLS, Google doesn’t like duplicate content. Regularly check your page for errors. There is nothing worse than getting a page indexed and attracting customers to your page if the information then is out of date, wrong telephone number, address, email address or even if you have changed your URL, make sure you change it on our site or you are pointing traffic at the wrong site! Some of this may seem common sense stuff, but you will be surprised how many times I have changed URL,s that are miss-spelt, have commas rather than dots, too may or not enough W’s or even the business name isn’t spelt correctly – make sure you check the obvious spend a few minutes reading through what you have written, this is your virtual shop window and you only get one chance to impress! If anyone has any good suggestions, shout them up so I can pass these ideas on & steal, I mean utilize these myself
