Default Building Backlinks

I just came across this post and had to mention a few things that I thought were important to consider.

1. Personally I manage a lot of sites and I do beleive that using softwares is good to use, but you have to use in moderation, you can not just kill it from one type of software and just blow it up. You have to go slow and try to build it somewhat naturally looking.

And using a variety of methods is 100% correct. In my opinion if you only use one type say directory building, (using free or paid, or even using submission software) if G makes a big change then your site can be heavily impacted. You want to do blog posts, blog comments, article directory submissions, web 2.0, social bookmarking, profile building etc. you can do a search for best paid directories on G and get some good ones there that have low cost and will build many links back to your site.

Creating a couple of blogs of your own is an easy win - you can post interesting on topics then drop in the odd link to good pages within your own site.

Provided you don't go over the top - with 100's of blogs and too may posts it seems to work.

At least that keeps things under your own control.

Mostly try to get related backlinks. Check the site for nofollow, pr and our link position on that website.
I think one way links are most useful like social bookmarking.

Stay with White hat link building - as you'll end up getting penalized in the end if you end up using black hat methods. (Check Google's web-master guidelines, they are pretty clear)

Most of the usual methods have already been said, however I would say that article directories aren't as good as they used to be and I'd avoid spending time and resources on building links on them.

I knew someone who's doing a link building and according to him the two best way to have links was doing social bookmarking and forum posting.

Yes, I think you also need to continually add more links as well. If you get some good backlinks to your site but then leave it for months without doing anything then I think you'd find that your ranking on Google would fall considerably.
By regularly gaining more (quality) backlinks from a variety of sources you'll give yourself a better chance of continually ranking highly..............

It's important to remember that the aim of SEO is to increase your standings in the search engines to receive a greater level of organic traffic.

Due to this, it's always advisable to develop your online presence and implement your SEO strategy organically - the more you update your business blog with quality content for your customers and the more active you become with social media resources and on forums, for example, the greater number of links you'll create and the higher you will rank in the search engines for specific terms.

This is, of course, a basic view of the entire process, but it should give you something to think about.
