Hi Steven, admirable aims, but as Kip mentioned its hard to help without knowing more info.

Starting a business isn't a quick fix for not finding the right full time job, and isn't for the faint hearted. Not trying to discourage, far from it, but you need to go in with your eyes wide open. It will be long hard work, it can take a while to get established, which can be hard if cash flow is tight.

By starting a business, that means you plan to start a legal entity, that will have responsbilities and consequences. Now it depends on your skill sets or where you feel your strengths are to decide what it is you want to do.

eg, you could set yourself up as a sole trader, minimal paperwork, and do something like a handyman round or windowcleaner round which requires little outlay (and can make some serious money!) Or maybe your background is as a web designer, in which case you may have higher start up costs, kitting out a home office, etc.

So it's down to you really, how far down the business planning route are you? A blank sheet of paper, or a firm idea of the trade or industry you want to start up in? Feel free to start new threads and ask any questions, I'm sure you'll have plenty of assistance

Default A new job, a new life !!

Hier guys. My children have inspired me on this idea, last year my little girl wanted a bouncy castle for her birthday party in the back garden I struggled to find one in my local area I had to go further a feild. When I did find one it was £70 for two hours and that is when I thought why not start with bouncy castle hire and if that does well I can progress from there.

Its an idea, I know there loads round our way, but if you have a gap in the market. Would do some research first to try and establish why theres a gap in the market?

Guessing costs are minimal once you've purchased the bouncy castle and compressor, obviously need a vehicle large enough to transport it.

Legal side would make me nervous, specially with kiddies, dunno if there is any H&S or insurance concerns.

My wife did exactly that when we had our second child - she had 2 castles out most weekends (I did all the deliveries etc) - she also hired out giant garden games, jenga, snakes and ladders which was great for weddings and barbecues.

Good luck with it.

Default Thanks guys!

Thank you guys. I have researched it and there is a gap in the market, I already have a large vehicle big enough to transport the equipment so that sorted, I just need to find the money to buy the castles and insurance. At the moment I have alot of money problems and I am unable to borow money from anywhere.
