Thumbs up clean accomodation in blackpool

hello all new to this site but just wanted to let people know after reading very bad reports on various sites and latley in the press that there is still decent clean and affordable accomodation in blackpool. i own a small guest house and like others times are very hard, there is not always the money available to make improvements but there is no excuse for dirt and rudeness when you book accomodation, and i am appalled at some of the comments people have made on visiting blackpool my place and others like me are kept exceptionally clean and visitors made very welcome at all times

Hi there Over50, welcome to the forums.

Blackpools image has seemed to have declined over the years, it appears to have become the hen and stag capital of the UK

I was up there with the missus last year, we went into the tower ball rooms, which was nearly empty on a Saturday, then came out to droves of drunken youngsters and multitudes of police.

Remember the annual trip to see the lights as a youngster, and its nice to know there are still decent B&Bs going strong. Just hope Blackpool gets its family friendly image back, so we will want to take our daughter when shes a bit older.

hi all
thanks for the replies very happy to let you know my web site address just was not sure if i was allowed to say the name of my place on this site
DALWOOD GUEST HOUSE CENTRAL BLACKPOOL check it out
i certainly do remember the trip to the lights every yr all the kids crammed in coaches dads at the back with the crates of booze and mums trying to keep us all quite strangley enough that put me of blackpool i used to dread it 3 kids to a seat coach full of smoke from the adults (no saftey rules then) stuck in a taffic jam for hrs with always someone wanting the toilet only seeing half the lights as its to late now we have to start for home, kids crying parents agrguing cause dads had to much to drink then the coach always breaks down on way home cold hungry tired kids harrassed mums and drunk dads and they really thought it was a treat for us kids,
strange how i ended up living here,
but i do love blackpool and there is a lot of improvment work gone on this past few yrs and a lot more to come super trams, the headlands, and hopefully in time the largest ski slope every to be built (pleased to say is just at the bottom of our street)
your right though regarding the stag and hen brigade fri and defiantley sat nights is appaling in blackpool family and couples tend to come during the week or stay away from the town centre at the week/end most of them tend to leave there brains on the motoway then pick them up on the way home, thats why we still have the bad accomodation now iam not saying all stag and hen groups are the same but 9 times out of 10 you always get 1 idiot in the group who thinks its okay to trash his room and generally treat the place appalingly cant beleive how dirty some people are when they go away, and its not just stag and hens , we dont do stag and hen groups here but they get wise sometimes and split up into small groups so sometimes its hard to keep them out, and you never know until they leave what the room is like,
any way does any one know of a good electrician NIC registered in blackpool who can do a periodic check on a small guest house that does not charge a fortune and is honest, may be there should be a web site for trusted honest tradesmen in the blackpool area as you get a bit fed up of shoddy work and being charged a fortune for

Nice looking place you have, blimey £22 per night! Having just had a weekend in London (went to see Billy Connolly) you forget how reasonable rates are in the rest of the country Keep thinking £4 a pints normal

Shall bear you in mind if the family decides to trundle up the M6 in the future.

thanks for your comment but just to save any confusion £22pp per night is during the week late season, high season is £25pp with discounts for 3 night stay or more still great value as includes freshly cooked full breakfast dont think there is any were else in europe that you can get that cheap for quality accomodation

And now with all the non smoking, sensible drinking, one child per seat, the weekend breaks for families have died down, go figure.

As some people know, I spent 18 months in SE Asia, and whilst we could afford a driver to ferry us around, the first time I caught a coach there (air con'd for about a pound, 4 hour journey) I kept catching them, every now and then a chap would jump on the coach and sell hot roasted peanuts with roasted garlic slices for 10p a pop, loads of noise from the kids, no chickens in cages though!

And it was strangely relaxing, now I am thinking it was memories from bygone days, just shouted upstairs, does she want a weekend in Blackpool, and the Step daughter replied 'Ay?' seems Kerri is still in the shower!

Tried looking through your side Mr 50, only home page is working
