Smile Are you all as friendly as Steve says? :-)

Hello everyone,

I'm Adam from Wampit and just stopping by to say hello. Strictly speaking a competitor of Steve's but it's all friendly amongst us guys and great to share experiences and learn from each other.

I met up with Steve yesterday in Leamington and we had long chat for a couple of hours about our businesses. Had a good time and was great to meet a likeminded person that understood the directory sector and is passionate about providing a quality advertising service.

Anyway, he said you were all super-friendly and should join to get to know you and share experiences... so there it goes... will take a look about now and see what people are chatting about...

Cheers
Adam
PS Smile icons have certainly increased since I was last on a forum site! Just spent ages looking at them all from the [More] button - please stop me if things get like this one:

Hi Adam

Welcome to the forum. Yes very friendly as long as you don't become over zealous on any self promotion too often.

Tell us a bit more about yourself for starters anyway, I'd be interested to hear how you are finding business in your field of expertise.

All the best.

Thanks for the welcome... nope I promise I won't be over zealous. Not here for any promo stuff, it's just Steve's been bullying me on email to join

In a nutshell, did a fair stint in corporate life working for Yell. Then left to set up my own directory. Been working on that for 3 years and all going well but been very tough. Not just because of the complexity but because of possibly choosing the worst time to launch! Anyway, we are out the other end and doing well. Learned a fair bit along the way and may be able to pass some knowledge on anyway...

Yes its pretty tough even for establised businesses but this difficult period doesn't look like changing anytime soon.

I'll have to take a look at your directory too. Look forward to your future posts.

Anyway, I wish you luck

A agree - I've given up predicting when things will change...

Please don't look up my business though as Steve may kick me off the site for promotion Steve: I'm not as posh as you as don't have a wampit forum for you to join. However, will publish a guest article on our blog site if you want to... can't say fairer than that :-)

Default Wampit Directory

As a matter of interest I have just entered my company details in your directory. Where do you get the bulk of your revenue from? Is it with the services over and above the free entry, which of course does not include a website link or advertising from third parties?
