To quote a classic 'you had me at hello' - Jerry Maguire Classic!! Sorry Mindy I dont know what you mean by 'recip linking' but I am sure that this forum will have some experts on what you are looking for!! I would like to say that it is very fascinating to learn more about what you do as this is a trade that is very niche! |

Thanks BluefinWV... I may have worded it wrong.. lol it's still confusing to me too. A recip (reciprocal) link is when you exchange banners. You post a banner and link to their site, and in return, they post your banner and a link for you.. it doesn't always work that way. I end up deleting a lot of links because they never link back. If you do a search for wood shop in wv, you may find me on google.

Rite, I understand what you mean now..well I am no expert but I did find a way to get my prev company up on google after they had 3 hits in 6 months to their site and they are now receiving over 50 per month.... all i did was re-write the sites content and updated this every couple of days with articles relevant to what i was selling with words like insurance, liability and van/car.... so for your line of work youd want to be listed as crafts/wood and maybe something else...explain what you do in detail and use the 'key words' as much as you can so it makes sense - overkill and the seo spiders wont pick up ur site at all... then i registered the company on as many 'free' listings sites(like one on here) and put our website address on it so it generated a flow of traffic... also twitter/facebook linking to your website articles or blog enhances you exposure on the site!!!
This OR you could pay for google adwords... All may help but I am sure if you shout loud enough on this forum some1 will show/help you with what your site ranking is and how it can be improved.... maybe someone who deals in IT... |

Welcome aboard Mindy
Have moved you to your very own intro thread (along with your conversation with Bluefin). Sounds like you are in an unfamiliar SEO jungle! Ref the reciprocal links (I link to you, you link to me) in this day and age they are as much good as a chocolate tea pot. They won't hurt, and are handy to show a well balanced linking campaign, but offer little actual value. To get you off the ground, here's our SO 101 doc. I'll leave this as a hello and welcome thread, but any questions, feel free to start a new thread and I'm sure you will get plenty of tips and help
