Hi all
My name is Carla and I run Millie Bug Cleaning Services.

We are based in Buckinghamshire which is just outside London in the UK!
I am quite a young business women and will be celebrating my 21st birthday next month!

Making me feel old

Welcome aboard Carla, and congrats on the business. So hows the first year gone? As expected, worse/better?

Nah Im just a baby in the world of business thats all!
Its gone well, I have found though there are more people out there that have no respect for people than I thought though, but I just take it on the chin!
Its gone a lot better than I though it would though. I think my main problem is people take one look at me and think but she is so young! But I can promise I am more competent than a few companies round here! Doesnt help I look younger than I am either!

Glad to hear it's going well, don't worry about age, in business only results count, and sounds like your going in the right direction.

My first year was a nightmare, if it could go wrong, it did But it makes you or breaks you as my granny used to say!

Your right about crackpots out there, plenty will promise the earth and deliver nothing, and plenty will try and use your services and then "forget" to pay

Hi Carla

Congratulations on doing so well so early .... and this at a time when lots of people aren't spending!

Would a bit of informal networking make it more painful for the slow payers to delay payment? People usually want their neighbours / contacts to see them as reasonable, decent human beings and a casual hint that you and X run the playgroup together might prompt X's friend to pay up more willingly.

I live in a (very large) village. It always amazes me who knows whom and who's related to whom and how much we all know about each other!

Welcome to the forums Carla

You make me feel young My age is a massive secret though, I wouldn't want to give Steve a coronary I'm over 18, that's enough said.

Good to hear things have gone well for you and your business, there are indeed alot of ignorant and frankly rude people in this world of business, it's just better to rise above it.
Enjoy your time here.
