Welcome Mark,

Presuming you are a disco man, the key question is what song do you think gets people on the dance floor!!

I can sense a whole other thread developing ...

It all depends on the age a lot of the older crowd are into elvis ect so if they are in there 60's or above anything rock&roll and they are like a party animal some are different but this sums up most. I would also say that a lot of people get up to macarena,i can do conga, cha cha slide ect the classic disco songs especially when i was younger but the younger generation are a bit different as a lot of them like r&b and will be up there. But to get majority of guests up its gotta be songs like macarena and that the ones that every1 could have a good dance to and a laugh

what about you what would you get and dance to

Default Dancing Queen

Good morning Mark

Unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to go dancing for a while. This is a shame, as I find it a great release and very theraputic, if the DJ plays the right tracks.

I used to stay with my brother-in-law up North, as they know how to party up there. I used to take my "play-list" with me to give to the DJ. At that time my list included "Dancing Queen", "It's Raining Men", "YMCA", "Sex Bomb". These are a bit old-hat now, but I guess they still get people up and dancing if it's the right crowd.

I feel I need to arrange a night out now, after all this talk of dancing.

Default re songs

hi i agree sex bomb and ymca are deffinately in the top 20 songs along with a number of old songs like these and they even get a lot of the younger kids dancing with the adults as well as a lot of older people joining in but hey what ever they like lol.
there will always be some people that just dont seem interested, but they are all songs that would still be used today even though they are old they still get the crowd in the mood (CLASSIC DISCO SONGS)among many more there would be just too many to list

a night out is good you got let off some steam sometimes lol

Hi Mark

I have to ask. You know when you do a wedding. And it's a bit too early for most of the adults to shed their inhibitions, and there aren't enough kiddies to fill the floor. And then Maiden Auntie Brenda, (50 years, 250lbs, and 7 cats) who hasn't been drunk since 1987 and is therefore feeling the effects a bit ahead of schedule, goes "ooOOOH! ABBA!" and boogies out onto the dancefloor on her own... and everyone else is gazing on in horrified astonishment except one evil bugger with a video who is egging her on...

Does the DJ cringe as much as we do?

Depends on the dj a good dj will sometimes use that to get every one in a good happy mood and continue it through the night but unfortunately it may be at the 50yr old persons expense thats why we call the dj, music/entertainers lol one slightly upset person for 30 people in the room that are full of laughter and building up there mood is sometimes what a dj has to sacrifice unfortunately we dont know how people might ract to the way we are so we gotta work the crowd for a good night
