Flying the Flag for Poole, Dorset

Just wanted to introduce ourselves and network our business to you lovely people. We own and Run the Bees Knees, AA, Four Star, Highly Commended, Licensed, Guest House in Poole, Dorset.

Now rated as being one of the Top 10% of accommodation providers in the UK, Scotland and Ireland.
Owned and run by Graham and Shell. We opened the Bees Knees in December 2007. Having never done anything like this before, and at a time in our lives when one of us was being forced to give up a much loved career and the other one of us was fed up with their current job as a sales person. You know the story, Ever increasing, unachievable targets, area keep being expanded and spending more time travelling than getting anything constructive done... Bla, Bla... Both of us came to a turning point in our lives when we desparately needed a change and are too young to be on the scrapheap of life.
After a mad Sunday afternoon, feeling full of doom and gloom, we came up with the idea of investing some capital into our current home and converting it into a Bed and Breakfast.

Six months later and several thousand pounds poorer, Bees Knees was launched into an already bulging community of bed and breakfasts already established in the area.
We quickly carved a name for ourselves with thanks to some really fantastic reviews, on Trip Advisor from guests who have stayed here.
In 2008 Graham was awarded the AA's Egg cup award for our breakfasts being over and above the expected standard and quality of our star rating.
We make all our own bread and breakfast sausages and smoke locally caught fish in our garden smoker and serve it as kippers or pate's to go in our Supper Trays and Picnics.
In 2009 Shell was a finalist at The Friendliest Landlady of the Year
awards in Hyde Park London.
The reason we think we are different from many other like establishments is that our accommodation is of extremely high quality and that we treat people how we would like to be treated when we go away.
I hope that this intro has not bored you all silly but given you an insight into what we do. Now I look forward to getting to know you all and participating fully in these forums.

Hello Kevin,
Good to talk to other members. I cant answer for everyone but certainly we have seen an increase. (not sure whether its because we are in a very fortuante place along the beautiful South Coast or whether our name is getting out there. But certainly our occupancy levels have certainly increased over the last two years.
