Dear Mike

Thank you for the welcome. I like your slogan!

We run a mailing house in London, and we are currently promoting handwritten direct mail in the UK, before handwriting becomes a lost art.

When I am not working, which is rare, I like to discover new music, and visiting unspoilt places in Europe and the UK.

Hi Hdm

I'm not sure I've understood. Handwritten mailshots? How does that work?

Hello Mary and mrb. Thank you for your posts.

There are plenty of handwriting type fonts around, but they are so obviously fonts that you won't get the effect you're after if you use those. There are computer programs that can capture handwriting, and we suggest using one of those. You can have your own handwriting made into a font. Alternatively, there are many styles of "Ready-made" handwriting fonts to choose from.

Please see our article on "Using Handwriting in Direct Mail", to view some samples.

Hello HDM, welcome aboard

Interesting stuff. I had visions then of you spending all night hand writing 5000 flyers

Hope you find the forums useful.

Thank you for the welcome, Steve.

No, not quite; but on smaller quantities, we do get our pens out and hand write the addresses on envelopes.

Yes, this is what I was imagining. My handwriting is pretty clear and I do the odd bit of calligraphy, but not on a mass scale... even just doing the Christmas cards gives me cramp after a while!
