Default Interesting H&S news

In our industry at the very core is the health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Contained within among many others is section 7. It shall be the duty of every employee while at work

* (A) to take reasonable care for the health and safety of himself and of other persons who may be affected by his acts or omissions at work; and
* (B) as regards any duty or requirement imposed on his employer or any other person by or under any of the relevant statutory provisions, to co-operate with him so far as is necessary to enable that duty or requirement to be performed or complied with.

This one does not come up often as far as prosecutions are concerned.

Here is the link to the story.

First impressions, red tape being used to beat up the poor old head master because an idiot pupil was messing round on the roof.

Then you read it, and the Head Master actually took the kids up on to the roof, and exposed them to danger. Plus they were 18, and collecting exam results, so no longer pupils at that school, could make an interesting insurance claim.

My 5 pence worth, the Headmaster should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
