Business Rates - confused?

A little confused about the current state of Business Rates. I thought from the budget that there was a business rates holiday until 2012, or is it just a percentage relief?

We recently moved to new offices and keep getting different bills and mixed messages. We were told our rateable value was £9000, and their was a rates holiday until this September, but after a couple of phone calls and confusion, our office is being revalued and apparently it will now be lower, and we've been told we will get a new bill.

So what was the outcome of the budget, is there an extended rates holiday until 2012 or did I get my wires crossed?

After failing to get a straight answer, we are now currently waiting to see what the new bill is and what or how much we need to pay

Nothing's ever straightforward!
