Stakeholder Pension

Can someone please tell me who to contact & what to look for when searching for the best stakeholder pension for our employees? There are only 5 of us & I've been told to approach a bank although I thought it would be an insurance company ?? We are a fairly new company and can't afford to contribute into it, yet, although we're hoping it's something do in the future.

best thing to do would be to get some info. Why not google stakleholder pension?

Thanks, I have since found out that I need to offer it to my employees and only need to set one up if they want to take it out. So far, none have got back to me. I have been quoted a £500 set up fee, so wont be taking it any further (for the moment) if the staff don't want it.

Have I read somewhere that the 5 employee limit for this is going to be reduced? Or did I imagine that?

Not sure if this i of any use but there are new regulations coming in the UK in regards to state pensions and private pensions for companies wef October 2012 and so companies are obliged to make sure that they look after ALL their company pension records themselves. We have launched a service to prepare businesses with the help and support and basically to take the work out of this for the employers in view of managing this.

All British businesses, whatever their size, will be expected to offer employees the chance to join a workplace pension scheme, the government has confirmed.

The announcement supports many of the measures set out in the Pensions Act 2008.

The new scheme will start, as expected, in 2012, and all employers will need to play a part by September 2016.

Its good that everyone is being made to contribute to their pension, as otherwise its the tax payer who ends up picking up the bill.

All the same its another burden on business at a time when few can afford it.
