Cool Facebook to float for £60bn

So it's not really that surprising, we all knew it was coming, but it does seem an odd time to float a mammoth company like Facebook, ie in the middle of a global financial meltdown.

At least Mark will now be able to get himself a decent house

Or of course, there is the other FB news story
FACEBOOK WILL END ON MARCH 15th, 2012!*|*Weekly World News

"Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will be shut down in March of 2012. Managing the site has become too stressful.

“Facebook has gotten out of control,” said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office, “and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness.”

Not even April 1st..

Hmmmm ... not sure I'd hold onto Facebook stock.

It could easily become the next MySpace, if it tarts up the site with too many ads, for example. Or if the mass mind moves on to something 'cooler'.

If I had a lot of its paper I'd flog it as soon as it floats and buy a medium-sized farm, then rent it out.

I love the facebook story.

A young guy who has a great idea and acts on it in a weekend to create a hugely successful business.

Fantastic. I wish I'd thought of it.

They are hundreds of corporations ready to buy Facebook with billions of dollars so there is no possible chances to shut down Facebook..... I think this is the story that has been spreading like wildfire across Facebook this weekend, although its a Hoax News. And it seems like Weekly World News has got more of these unbelievable stories!

It will be interesting to see what the people at Facebook implement using those funds. @Facebook shutdown = something tells me that story may be a hoax.

There is no way Facebook will shut down, It's too big for that, although I do think, eventually people will just move on and Facebook will become old news, it happens all the time its just a craze, and they always die out.

I don't think this would be a great investment for this reason.

the company is not going to shut down but it is an amusing thought... what would happen to all the personal data if the company shuts down?

I imagine under cover CIA lorries disguised as moving vans will show up at its HQ and data center

Default I think Not

Facebook is not shutting down. According to CNN these are just mere allegations.
