Guess it was only a matter of time, poor old Steve Jobs has been through the mill and back!
"Apple co-founder Steve Jobs has resigned as chief executive of the technology giant and will be replaced by chief operating officer Tim Cook. Mr Jobs, who underwent a liver transplant following pancreatic cancer, said he could no longer meet his chief executive's duties and expectations." BBC News - Apple boss Steve Jobs to be replaced by Tim Cook

I think we can all say get well soon Mr. Jobs. I really hope so though. it can't be a walk in the park with everything he has to deal with.
The only question now is, where does Apple go from here? (Business wise)

Is it though?
I hope so, be interesting to see if they can keep the same drive, passion and innovation with out Steve Jobs at the helm. Lets not forget Apples performance from 1985 to 1996, after Jobs got the boot, until his return in 96... Reality is, Mac PC's were a small niche market and Apple was floundering. Jobs came back, turned it round with innovation, great design and clever marketing, and moving away from the traditional Mac anorak image. His knack is to create brand new markets, and then dominate them, ipod, iphone, ipad. So what will come next? I wonder what innovation we will see over the next 5 - 10 years?

I'm not really sure about that, but I did find a post on mashable that showed the letter Tim Cook sent out to the Apple team. (Must have been one heck of an email list)
