I have recently read an article saying that wave 2 is on its way, I think some battening down of the hatches is on the cards for the next year or two, but I reain solid in my thought that if you run a good company with good quality and service you wil surf through these times relatively unscathed

Couldn't agree more.

As long as businesses dont over extend themselves, then their client base may slow in growth, but continue to offer quality service and biz should remain stable.

Keeping current customers happy is the secret in times of financial storms. A happy customer wont be bothered with the hassle of going elsewhere for the sake of a marginally cheaper competitor.

I've often wondered whether the real costs of recessions are properly recorded. I suspect they aren't because we don't have the tools to measure their impacts.

There's an awful long way to go. The budget next week will be a pointer. The Housing Market, inflation, money supply, unemployment, world economy, Oil and so much more including whats happening in the Middle East are all unpredictable factors which will create nervous markets for some time to come.

All I can say is, if we continue to wait for all these things to be positive, we will wait until eternity and miss the boat.

Regarding my own business, we have continued to invest in new equipment, new software and added to our products and services along with new marketing and cutting unnecessary costs. We have kept our workforce in the loop so that they know extacly what our plans are and there is a positive ambiance in the company.

I look upon the recent past and current times as an opportunity, the more you put in now the more successful you will be.

BE POSITIVE!!!

We do seem to blunder through life from one crisis to another, wars, global warming, financial meltdown, natural disasters, fuel prices, that this now is normality.

Businesses will always be looking for opportunities, and history shows that successful ones are the ones that can exploit opportunities.
