Default Best E-Commerce Software?

Hi all
I am looking for some advice on the best e-commerce package and the one which you think is more widely used. Obviously pricing would become an issue as well

Default Zen Cart

personally I love Zen Cart. People say it's a bit more complicated but certainly functionality rich and customisable. I formed a baby products business a while ago called 'Titchy Tot' (search for it in Google). This was built in Zen Cart with a new design stitched into the front. Works well I think and looks professional. I think it's doing well too in terms of conversions. I sold it earlier this year to a great guy that's developing it further.

Wampit - that is a great looking ZenCart store! We have plenty of clients using ZenCart with our Payment Gateway and people are often surprised when we suggest it as a free and easy to setup option. Like you say, people seem to think it is complicated and outdated but there are an abundance of templates and add-ons which can make it look and feel more like a bespoke site.

We do support many other shopping carts including open-source solutions such as Magento, OpenCart and VirtueMart but one of the most popular still tends to be ekmPowershop (hosted solution).

I have used OpenCart before and I think it is easy to setup and secured. There are plenty of them out there.

Thanks Simon - yes I was very pleased with it (and so too was the person that bought the business from me). Basically my guys used the Zen Cart template and then changed the front end design completely to make it look unique and give it that bespoke / designed feel.
