Default The Right Website

We have been looking at designing an Ecommerce site online and we have found a few cost effective sites. I was wondering if anyone has used any sites to build their own Ecommerce website?

If you have what have you used?

We have used a package called actinic before although it did the job it was very limited to what you could do.

I would always advise you look at companies before you offer packages as usually they will damage your site in the long run.

We have plenty of clients that have used the likes of OpenCart, osCommerce, Magento, ZenCart and TomatoCart which are all open-source (free) carts meaning this should keep initial cost down. However, like with most open-source carts they require a decent level of ecommerce development knowledge to get them to their full potential. If you want something out of the box which is hosted then you could look at ekmPowershop or OpenMindCommerce.

Feel free to click the Shopping Carts link on our website to see a list of the carts we recommend and support with our payment gateway.

Prestashop all the way, I used it for Card To Find - Hard To Find Business Cards very easy (for me as a designer though) and SEO end is built in and works a charm!

I agree the best opensource shopping cart is prestashop. We have designed our own out of the box ecommerce platform which links into our cms its like ekmpowershop but even easier....

There is a free community version on our website
