Hi all
mine has just been running a few months now and there is still a lot to be done.
Some days it seems to moving so slowly and others well it is much better but still slow , i am working on back links at the moment and we will see from there, I guess you have to put in a lot of time for these things to get off the ground , it would good to hear from some of you how long/short it has taken you to get going. ?

Honestly? I'd say Year 3 was the turning point. We could finally start quoting analytic stats instead of server log stats

Server log stats do sound so much better though, especially hits

All depends on your business type and model though. If your selling widgets and you have a great PPC campaign, you could get going straight away. If your offering online advertising services, then you need a lot of organic traffic and that takes time.

Default Nice to know

I guess that working on back links will always be ongoing. it is sometimes very frustrating that this is all a bit slow in the beginning - but i am sure that as time goes on i will become better at this and that the process will take less time It also seems that the process of moving up the ranking with google is slow and it seems that it takes a long time for the links that i do make to come through . sjr4x4 if you dont mind my asking, how long do you spend a night/day sitting at the computer, working on back links ?

To be honest, the majority of the time I don't really bother. Its mundane, boring, and I always seem to find something else to do I spend plenty of time on different forums, so in theory you are creating links via your signature in each post, but I've stopped worrying about it so much. I think the best use of your time is link bait, in otherwords good content, and let people come and start linking naturally to you.

The likes of alby on this forum offer pretty cheap article services that will generate some good links, but it really is a never ending game.

If I could find a decent reputable link builder who would do it for me, then I'd happily let them do it, but having tried a few, I havent found a decent one yet

Think it's time to close this one as it's been running since Nov 2009!

Maybe compare it with a future pole!
