For me personally, I still use PayPal.

I tend to shy away from many of the products that the Big G provides (Google Docs, gmail, high speed internet, etc, etc) - as I'm one of those persons that doesn't like them having the potential to access all information for everything.

Thumbs up paypal

Hi Malok,
like you, Im only using paypal a the moment but mainly because it's a gateway I'm familiar with and I find it easy to use as both a buyer and seller.
Good luck with the real estate.

Default pay pal

I have used pay pal before and there were no problems .. it is very easy using joomla and virtue mart, I am in the process of using it again on another site using joomla and virtue mart.

For those of you looking for a merchant account/payment gateway setup, we operate a low-cost and PCI level 1 accredited gateway called EcomMerchant. EcomMerchant can be integrated with most leading shopping carts and has add-on features such as Virtual Terminal, Multi-Currency and Repeat Payment options.

We might not be as big as the likes of RBS Worldpay or Sage Pay but we have been around for years and offer a low-costing alternative with friendly and local support from our Stockport office.

Thanks,

Simon

Default Preferred online system

I would suggest that you try other payment methods other than PayPal, although PayPal is widely used by online customers but the negative side of PayPal is that there can be huge amount of chargeback. However, the chances of you (business owner) being successful in the chargeback is little.

Nothing agains't paypal it works. But it does say "Small, maybe ebay type business"

What you could do is this.. And it will save you money as well as adding important credibility to your business.

Oin the FSB, which costs about £100, then as one of the member benefits you get FREE setup with streamline for both ecommerce and moto (manual) payment methods saving you almost £500 (2 merchant numbers). You also get perminent prefferential transaction rates approx

Mastercard = 1.98%
Visa = 1.92%
Debit cards = 32p flat fee

Then simply setup a merchant account with Sagepay on there £20 per month deal, which means you pay nothing more to process transactions until you exceed 1000 transactions per quarter! Thats 333 per month.

Just my opinion guys but it has saved us a fortune over the last 3 years.

It Depends what you are using it for.....

I have tried using the Worldpay mod for Zen cart - it doesnt work at present. I found it took along time to set up also so ended up cancelling.

I have tried Sage PAy which is very good.
Given the choice i would go with Secure Trading - Easy to setup muliple websites with same gateway.....

We have just added the paypal option to our website.
The reason, on a limited number of occasions we are asked to take credit/debit cards, not often enough to warrant a chip n pin terminals costs.
The paypal option allows payments by logging into their paypal account if they have one and if not they can pay by credit card.
No its not a cheap option but if it keeps a customer its worth the few quid it costs.
