Kiddy friendly browser

I've not heard of this till now and my kids are still too young to be let loose near a pc so I don't know what it's like but thought those with children might be interested in KidZui an internet browser for kids.

That looks really good, as it's an american site do you know if the websites checked would allow uk sites? I suppose it can be modified but just a thought.

Does look good, I'll be keen to get my daughter using a computer as soon as possible, but it is a worry.

Buddy Browser looks pretty good, you download a browser and the kid only access a strict range of education and game sites, matched to the childs age, but again US biased.

For the UK, the BBC C Beebies site looks pretty good. Obviously its just this site, so you would use a normal browser, but I think the content is aimed at an age where you wouldn't leave a child unsupervised on the PC anyway.

Yes, from their website it states, Kids can enter web addresses, search or browse to go to websites that have been approved by parents and teachers. Parents can modify the settings as they desire.

So looks quite flexible....

...in fact just googled Browsers for kids and there's a few other browsers. So if interested, check for yourself.

This is pretty much what my best friend has been doing with his little boy - he can do anything he likes on the computer, has full control of mouse and keyboard, but must be sitting on an adult's lap. There have been one or two last-minute saves on YouTube where a chain of "related videos" links have gone from kids cartoons to something disturbing.

My daughter has windows vista installed and I just use the built in web content filter. it has been faultless so far. fingers crossed.

Same here, works well, you should see there little faces at 7.00pm when they cannot access the web

My daughter uses Cbeebies mostly but these kids browser look really fun, she's only 3 but is so competent on the computer on want to encourage it and to have something that she's not going to accidently stumble across anything of an adult nature would be really good. I'm going to investigate!
