Post Google takes on Facebook and Twitter with network site

I find it a little odd that it is integrated with Gmail.
I dont want to go to my mail to use my social network.

Google has taken the wraps off its latest social network known as Buzz.

The service - integrated directly with its e-mail service Gmail - allows users to post status updates, share content and read and comment on friends' posts.

I wonder if we have seen the peak of the social networking excitement, if we look back in say 10 years time?

Myspace is on the decline, facebook is the current darling, twitter has gone from groundbreaking to mundane. Is there enough enthusiasm left with the youngsters to be wowed by "Buzz" or will Big G throw in enough bells and whistles to tempt us all?

I may be wrong but I think that google have missed the mark here:
social networking is about freedom of expression striaight google have tied you into there mail product so unless there is something ground breaking in there I am not sure the SM masses will follow:

PS dont forget Plurk I hope it rises up the rank as it has got the most user friendly layout and even though I am not a massive social media fan it is easy and fun to use.

Default Vampire Slayer flees creepy social web

Oh dear as predicted.
The story may be a little cheesey for my liking but social networks is about just that being sociable and if a celeb vocally shuts you down on day1 it cant be good news.

Social tinnitus Google Buzz hasn't just upset social web mavens, it's also alarmed US actress and sometime Vampire Slayer Felicia Day too.

Its a trend thing tell enough people and the others will follow I remeber when I used to use myspace alot and then a site called Mrsmith, This site was more band based but soon got busy and then failed when Facebook took over.

Do I think they will succeed?

They have at everything else so why not this?
