Voice Recognition

I am a certified ProAdvisor for QuickBooks accounting software. I was contacted by a blind business owner and would like to know if there is an accounting program that is compatible with a voice recognition program (preferably JAWS since that is what he uses). I have tried to do some research on the matter but the best I found were excel templates that he could use since his software works with office.

Any information would be appreciated! Thanks.

I'm no expert in this field, and have played around with IBM voice reconition stuff, but I've heard one of the best players in this field is Dragon. I'm pretty sure its compatible with Jaws.

Best thing is to check out Nuance - Dragon NaturallySpeaking Speech Recognition Software and contact them direct.

Thanks Steve. Do you know of an accounting software that would be compatible with Dragon and JAWS?

From what I can see, Dragon will work with most windows based apps, including accounts packages.

Theres no reason why it shouldn't work with quickbooks or Sage, but I would contact the vendor to confirm compatibility.

Depending on the level of functionality required, budget, and the fact your client has Jaws screen reader, then another product called JSay might be worth a look? This seems to be a bolt on for Dragon and Jaws.
