Ok, we all agreed IE8 was rubbish! (http://www.mylocalforums.com/compute...rvey-said.html)
and I was convinced to move over to firefox, but this hasn't been as smooth as I would have liked. Firefox is a bit of a memory hog like IE8 was, and I normally have to recycle it a couple of times a day. Some of the bolt on apps are great, but some are very badly written, which makes choosing the one you want a bit of a minefield. It doesn't help by running Vista, but I really can't be bothered going through the pain of upgrading to Win7 just yet, and have no interest in Macs ![]() So with the hyped arrival of IE9, I was hoping maybe at last we have a non hugely memory hungry browser, and charged over to the Microsoft beta download site to try it out... But alas, all thing being Microsoft, my Vista machine which is patched to an inch of its life isn't compatible with IE9. "setup doesn't support the Windows service pack version currently installed on your computer" So having the latest service pack is no good ![]() is it me..... right, wheres the nearest apple store...

Well since first posting, I then revisited Google Chrome, after getting frustrated with FF crashing.
With the new functionality and plugins, chrome has now become much more usable and has a much smaller memory footprint. Touchwood, since changing over, my Vista runs better, and browser crashes seem to be a thing of the past!
