As a new visitor, we've put some quick fire tips and points below to hopefully answer your most common questions, but feel free to contact us if you still have a problem.


1. Can I add web links to my in my signature?

Unfortunately due to an increased level of spammers and some continual self promotion posts, new forum members need to have at least 10 posts before they are able to have weblinks in their signature, or post links in posts. Once you have reached 10 posts, your account will automatically be updated within 60 minutes to allow signatures. Go to your control panel (Top Menu bar - User Control Panel) and you will have an option called "Edit Signature".

Any suspected spammers, such as short irrelevant posts just to get to the 10 post boundry will get their posts deleted, or accounts banned.

If you can't see an option for signatures in your user control panel, then your account hasn't been upgraded. If it still hasn't shown within 60 minutes, then contact us and we'll check it out.

2. Ok I've registered, now what?

Come and introduce yourself. Head over to introductions and tell us about you and your business.

3. Can I self promote?

Yes and no. We don't want you to self promote in every post, that defeats the purpose of this forum. But you are more than welcome to introduce yourself and your business in the introductions forum. After that, once you have made 10 posts, set yourself up a nice signature, with weblinks back to your own website. So every future post you make, you are in fact soft selling yourself without even realising it! You also get a bit of SEO value, having your weblinks in your signature.

We also have a forum called the Village Market.

This is to allow members the chance to promote their business or for special offers or promotions for forum members and visitors. You will need to have at least 10 previous posts before you can post to the Village Market. This is just a simple way to reward people who have contributed a little.

We are always on the lookout for spammers or people abusing the system so please use a little common sense. If people are intent on doing 10 nonsense or irrelevant posts just to be able to post to the Village Market, or if members repeatedly keep leaving the same offers, then they may find their posts removed or worst case will be banned.

4. My user account has been banned??

In that case, a moderator has deemed you have done something very inappropriate. A moderator may issue a warning first, but its down to a bit of common sense, and if you have for example spammed the same post across multiple threads, then you will simply be banned.
