Signature Spammers - a new wave!

So we have the traditional anti-spam defences pretty well sorted, but unfortunately we seem to have a new wave of spam. The signature spammers.

Basically, lowlevel SEO and marketeers that simply want to gain links, so start new threads, posting low quality rubbish, but squeeze inside our rules.

Good examples:

"What is SEO?"

"What is PPC?"

We have a few of these dubious members aboard, and as from now, any more low quality rubbish will be deleted, and if it persists, members will be banned.

We have a great friendly community that is growing nicely, with a wide variety of members, who give up their time to answer questions and help out fellow business people.

We can't let this be spoiled by spammy one liner link dumpers.

If you spot them before we do, report them.

It's getting ridiculous though. They are taking advantage of high ranking forums because they know their links will do well. Some might say its the price of success others, myself included, thinks its time for a bigger gun (emoticon ).

There are so many really good people here, you're right, and to have it all spoiled by people wanting a quick link is well disastrous.

I will help in any way I can as well. It's time we stood together and took em to hand.....

Lots of SEO companies offer forum link building and charges an amount for each post they provide obviously with potential signature links on each post. It's totally not ethical if you come to forum in order to gain links on signature rather than contributing to the community. It's good you have taken measures to cut it down. I do SEO too and I hate spamming.

Unless the members help out the moderators, we can report spammy posts, and bring it to their attention. It can be done and has worked really well before
