It dosent work like that, the industry is a mess too many fast track plumbers have entered the market along with migrant plumbers, with no work available to them they offer their services for free in the hope of getting a foot in the door. So what happens is, many businesses will use these people as free labour, then get rid of them when the trial period is over. Theres probably more plumbers sitting at home watching daytime television, dreaming about the £60k they were told they could earn once trained, than there are actually working. The reality is though their be lucky to earn half that sum. But they stay at home waiting for the big one to come along  Too many well established plumbing businesses have gone to the wall recently (more will follow) as they pay more in wages than what the job is worth, with companies getting their profit margin, in what they can claim back from the VAT man..
