A lot of it goes down to personal experiences, I've had terrible problems in the past with Lloyds, and more recently Abbey, and then Santander have been a complete nightmare, total incompetance isn't a strong enough term

Then others will swear blind by them, so swings and roundabouts. Most will have similar schemes for limited free banking, I know Natwest Business originally offered us 12 months free banking.

But don't forget a key weapon in your armory, especially as a business customer, if you're not happy, complain!

Can't take any credit, but our man Clive is like a dog with a bone, over the last couple of years he has got us an extra 12 months free banking, plus a number of credits after some banking cockups.

Also if you know you wont go overdrawn, then do away with an overdraft, as most business accounts will charge you for this luxury.

Default Interesting a lot of you have to pay for baking fees

It is quite interesting to me that a great deal of you have to pay fees on all of your banking transactions. I have never paid any banking fees, I have always been fortunate enough to get a free account.

Is that how it works in most countries outside the US?

Certainly is in the UK, and I suspect most of Europe

So you get free banking for a business bank account? Our personal accounts are normally free (assuming you stay in credit!)
